Ongoing Support — Respecting autonomy, providing dignity
Some people choose homelessness as a lifestyle. Not because they're broken. Not because they've failed. Because it's their autonomous choice. They don't need rescue. They need dignity in the life they've chosen.
Society often assumes all homeless individuals want to be "saved." But some have consciously chosen this path. Their choice is dismissed as mental illness or failure. Available products aren't designed for their lifestyle. They face judgment rather than practical support.
Autonomy isn't only for those who choose conventionally. If someone has capacity and chooses differently, dignity still applies.
Working with Roberto, a product developer, we're creating "Dignity Artefacts" — disposable everyday objects designed specifically for utility, safety, and dignity. Not charity handouts. Practical tools for a chosen lifestyle.
We don't ask people to come to us. We go where they already feel safe.
In Hong Kong, certain 24-hour establishments have become de facto community spaces for those without permanent shelter — places where dignity-seekers already feel welcome, where staff know regulars by name, where no one asks questions.
We're exploring partnerships with these spaces to become distribution points for Dignity Artefacts. The trust is already built. The relationships already exist. We simply add practical support to an ecosystem that's already working.
Why this works:
We're in early development with Roberto on the first line of Dignity Artefacts. Simultaneously, we're building relationships with potential distribution partners.
If you work with homeless communities, manage a 24-hour establishment, or have product design expertise, we'd love to connect.
